Twitter, Tweetups and Tweeple

I need to say more about Twitter than was discussed in my Aug 27 post.

I participated in my first ever Tweetup last Thursday. What in the word is a Tweetup? It is a newly coined phrase that brings together all of the twitter users in a particular region (twitter + people = tweeple) to network and get connected.

The word ‘Tweetup’ is so new that when my buddy Lee Graham (who refers to himself as ‘Geek of all Trades’) tried to put it in Wikipedia, they kicked him off.

But until it becomes a more well-known term, and believe me, it will, we can all join in the geekiness of using a word that nobody else understands.

The tweetup itself was very productive. It allowed me to get connected with people who are involved in similar trades and STAY connected with them through twitter. The end goal is to one day not have to spend as much of my time trying to sell my services, and let my networks sell for me.

On another note, here is a picture of my partner and I in front of our newly constructed cubicles: thank you OnCall Home Solutions!
